Pottery Tuition with John Evans in Worthing
Tuition in all aspects of ceramics is available from my well-equipped pottery workshop near Worthing seafront. I was fortunate to have been trained on the renowned Harrow Studio Pottery course and graduated from there with a ceramics degree (University of Westminster) in 2005. Prior to that I had been working with clay since 1995 and a collector of ceramics since the early 1960's.
I have worked at some time or another with most aspects of ceramics and am happy to share my knowledge and skills with aspiring students. The workshop is equipped with 3 electric wheels, 2 electric kilns and a gas kiln, an extruder, and most equipment and materials to be found in a small scale professional studio pottery.
I have been running specialist 4 day workshops twice yearly for skilled ceramicists since 2008 and can now offer tuition for beginners and hobbyist potters wishing to improve their knowledge and skills.
Tuition can be tailored to meet your needs and, depending on my own schedule, is generally during the day or at weekends. There are never more than 3 students at any one time and much of my tuition has been on a one to one basis. There is no requirement for any long-term commitment. You would be very welcome to visit my workshop to discuss your needs and view the facilities.
In addition to on-going tuition it is also possible to book 'taster' throwing sessions. These can be for two or three hours and have been very popular - often purchased as birthday/anniversary presents (gift certificates are available).
